Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad is a national event-based competition. It is organized in three divisions A, B and C. Division A is for elementary grades and consists solely of local events. Division B (grades 6-9) and Division C (grades 9-12) compete at regional, state and national levels. Only the top teams advance from one level to the next.
Each year 22-24 different events are selected and teams of up to 15 students prepare to compete. Events are designed to reflect the major areas of science: earth and space, life and physical. The events are divided into engineering, laboratory-based, and written tests, or a combination of these.
