We are currently taking applications for the following positions at CFS:

Lunch Program Manager

This is a part-time, hourly position requiring 25 to 29 hours per week (9:00 am to 2:30 – 3:00 pm).  The lunch program manager oversees the CFS lunch service by receiving the monthly orders from the school office and placing orders with the various restaurants providing meals for each day.  The manager also orders and prepares food for the lunch salad bar, and, along with an assistant, serves food to participating students.  The manager works with the lunch program assistant to ensure dishes, trays, and utensils are washed and cleaned, food is properly stored, and the kitchen area is cleaned and kept in good order.  The manager must ensure all food service and kitchen procedures and policies comply with state, county, and city requirements.  Beginning salary is $12.00/hr. 

This position requires someone with good organizational skills and who is attentive to details.  Prior food service experience is preferred, but not required.  The manager must be able to stand and work around a kitchen for several hours at a time, carry small cases of food and supplies, and do required cleaning and mopping.  CFS will pay for the manager to take a required food service manager class, which he/she must pass to assume the position.  Every CFS employee must agree with the school’s Statement of Faith and reflect the purpose of the school which is to honor Christ in every activity. 

 

AFTERCARE ASSISTANT

General Description and Responsibilities:  The aftercare assistant works under the supervision of the aftercare supervisor to ensure the safety and well-being of children in grades preschool through fifth grade who remain at the school building for an extended period after classes are dismissed.  The assistant supervises and directs children during free play time, may help organize group games or activities, and may oversee students as they do homework.

Qualifications and Abilities:  Applicants must be in agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian Philosophy of Education, must be able to serve as a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and conduct, and must complete a criminal background check as directed by the school.  The person in this position must work well with children, be able to follow directions and instructions from the aftercare supervisor, and be physically capable of accompanying children to the outside playground area, as well as different parts of the school building.

 

Middle School – High School Art Teacher 2020-2021 School Year (Part-time)

This art teacher position is responsible for art instruction in grades 7 – 12.  Instruction will include such areas as painting, sketching, designing, and sculpturing.  The art teacher is responsible for preparing lesson plans and establishing course goals, selecting art supplies and course materials, observing and evaluating pupils’ work to determine progress and to make suggestions for improvement, conferring with students, parents, and other faculty to resolve student problems and to maximize the effectiveness of the learning process, accompanying students on field trips, planning and supervising student contests and arranging art exhibits.  This teacher will collaborate and share an art room with an elementary art teacher.  Some classes will meet daily and will be scheduled during the afternoon.   

Band Director

The band director is responsible for planning, teaching, directing, and assessing students’ individual mastery of a band instrument and their collective performance.  This position works with groups of students from 5th grade, middle school, and high school.  In addition to daily afternoon classes, the band director prepares students for seasonal performances and competitions.  The band director must be knowledgeable and skilled in conducting and in instrumental music instruction and have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.  A teaching certificate is preferred, but not required.   Every employee at CFS must be in agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every aspect of life.
