Philosophy

Christian Fellowship School is committed to raising up young people who serve the Lord in both their vocational calling and in the local church. With a challenging college preparatory curriculum, we recommend all students to pursue higher education as a means to best live out their giftings and talents in their daily life. Therefore, with the assistance of faculty and administration, the guidance office strives to prepare students for college and career readiness, from identifying interests and aptitudes to college applications and the financial aid process.

Expectations

Our goal is for students to have a good understanding of how their unique skills and interests are best suited for a vocation and in their Christian life, and to make informed decisions on where to pursue their education after graduation. Therefore we expect students to participate in job shadowing opportunities, complete a minimum of 10 hours of community service, and take the ACT before they graduate. We understand that the transition to college is a process, but we aim to help students graduate prepared and confident in the Lord’s direction for their life.

Standardized Testing

Christian Fellowship School administers summative standardized tests at every grade level K-12 as a means of assessing each individual student’s attainment of learning objectives. These assessments are required by our accreditation, and they provide a comparison with the performance of students at the same grade level nationally, as well as with students in other private, Christian schools within the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). The objectives assessed within these standardized test are aligned with national educational standards (NAEP), and they provide group data useful for the evaluation of our curriculum and instructional processes.

CFS administers the TerraNova3 assessment to grades K-9 each Spring, with the InView cognitive ability assessment administered in grades 2 – 9. The Pre-ACT exam is given to students in tenth grade, and students in grades ten and eleven take the PSAT exam, which is the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship. Students in their junior and senior year also take the ACT and/or SAT college entrance exam.

Transcript Request

If you would like to request a transcript from CFS, please provide the Transcript Request Form. Completed forms can be brought into the main office or emailed to Sarah Hixon in the Guidance Office. If the student is under 18 years old, a parent signature is required prior to the transcript being sent. We try to mail transcripts out within 24 hours of receipt of the form.
